Amber Clock was inspired by the “Always On Display” feature introduced in Nokia’s Amber update. Many older Windows Phone devices lacked this functionality, so I built a lightweight app to replicate the experience.
Users loved the idea of having a glanceable clock without unlocking their phone. However, hardware limitations meant many couldn’t access the feature. I created Amber Clock to bridge that gap, offering a battery‑efficient, AMOLED‑style display that worked even on unsupported devices.
Amber Clock gave older Lumia users access to a premium feature, extending the life and usability of their devices. It also demonstrated my ability to reverse‑engineer platform features and deliver them in a user‑friendly way.
